Final Message from the Campaign Co-Chairs

It has truly been our honor and privilege to serve for the past five years as Co-Chairs of the Campaign Changing Lives Since 1889. We are delighted to announce that as of June 30, 2007, the Campaign has raised $12,035,451 thanks to you, our generous donors. This amount far exceeds our goal of $10million.

We have enjoyed meeting so many of our fellow alumni and hearing about the impact that the College at Oneonta has had on your lives. As Oneonta alumni, we have so much to be proud of, including our fine tradition of giving.

At the start of the Campaign, we identified four specific areas on which we would focus: scholarships, science programs, the Milne Library, and unrestricted endowment. While we will be reporting information on all these areas in future publications, we did want to share one of the greatest achievements of the Campaign: In five years, 63 new endowed scholarships have been created. This represents an increase of more than 50%.We want to offer special thanks to all our scholarship donors who made this possible. This year, over $1,500,000 in scholarship awards will be given to deserving students. Many of these students would not be able to achieve their educational goals without the financial assistance of scholarships.

Thank you again for making our Campaign a rousing success and our alma mater #1 in alumni percent participation in giving among our SUNY peers for the sixth consecutive year.

Sincerely,

Bob and Sheila Sheridan Striffler,
Class of 1972
