One of the many traditions of College at Oneonta Alumni is leaving a legacy via a senior class gift. Each year the class votes on what they would like to do to leave their legacy. Working with the Senior Class Officers and the Office of Alumni Affairs, a Senior Class Gift Campaign Committee is formed. The seniors on the committee volunteer their time and work hard to get as many of their classmates to participate as possible, ultimately making their class campaign a huge success!
The Senior Class of 2008 has chosen to establish a fund to preserve the pillars as their class gift. The Class of 2008 was the first freshmen class to participate in the tradition of Passing Through the Pillars of Old Main and will be the first senior class to complete the cycle.
The class voted to preserve the pillars so the Pass Through the Pillars tradition can continue for future students. The Seniors have also voted to donate $500.00 to the Alan B. Donovan Scholarship, in honor of Dr. Donovan’s retirement after 20 years of service as President of the College at Oneonta.
The Senior Class Gift Campaign Committee is asking all seniors to make a gift of $20.08 to help leave a lasting legacy. If you have not made your donation yet, you can do so online or you can visit the Alumni Affairs Office located in 129 Alumni Hall. Gifts can be made in the form of cash, dragon dollars and debit/credit cards.
