Welcome to the SUNY College at Oneonta.

At the start of the 2009-2010 academic year, we celebrated the 120th anniversary of the first day of classes at our college in 1889.  We also started a strategic-planning process, involving our entire campus community, to help refine our focus for the next five years.  Underlying the planning process is our most fundamental commitment: providing our students an exceptional educational experience at an affordable cost.
At SUNY Oneonta, the teaching and learning process is our highest priority, and our outstanding faculty members work closely with students from the first year to the graduate level.  Through careful management of our resources and prudent fiscal planning, we continue to improve our academic programs, expand our scholarship offerings, and maintain one of the finest campuses in the entire SUNY system.

For 2010, US News ranked SUNY Oneonta as one of the top 10 public master’s-granting colleges in the North.  In the US News rankings of both public and private colleges in the category, we have moved from 83rd four years ago to 45th this year.  For the past three years, we have been named one of the 100 best values among public colleges nationwide by Kiplinger’s, and we have appeared each year on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
