The College at Oneonta recognizes that academics are only half of the college experience. One of the keys to a successful college career is a fun and fulfilling social life as well. For this reason, SUNY Oneonta offers vibrant and diverse student life opportunities to keep you on your toes throughout your experience here!
Clubs & Organizations Over 80 clubs and organizations are offered at SUNY Oneonta, ranging from those focused on professional development to personal interest. Some of our more popular clubs include the Terpsichorean Dance Company, Mask & Hammer Theatre Society, Students of Color Coalition, and the Gamer's Guild.
And if for some reason we don't have what you're looking for, feel free to start your own club!
Greek Life In the past three years, Greek Life at Oneonta has grown by more than 150 percent! The College fully recognizes five sororities and three fraternities. Each group is distinct in its own way and are all heavily involved in service activities throughout the campus and the community. (NOTE: First semester freshman are not eligible to join a Greek organization)
Athletics SUNY Oneonta offers various intercollegiate athletics and competes in Division III of the NCAA. The College has a long history of athletic success and in fact, holds the 2003 National Championship in Women's Soccer.
Intramurals Many of our students also compete in one of 14 intramural offerings, including softball, arena football, and ultimate frisbee. All students are eligible to play, regardless of past experience.
Diversity The College at Oneonta is committed to a diverse campus community that is safe, open, and embracing. Through our Center for Multicultural Experiences, the campus hosts countless seminars, workshops, and other activities to enhance one's understanding and appreciation of various racial and ethnic communities. For example, our popular AALANA (African American, Latino, Asian, and Native American) group hosts a student fashion show each semester while our International Student Organization annually hosts an "Ethnic Food Night" on campus.
