SUNY ONEONTA STUDENTS TO HELP WITH CENTER CITY CLEAN-UP

ONEONTA, N.Y. --  Student volunteers from the SUNY College at Oneonta will join Oneonta residents to help with a clean-up of the Center City neighborhood on Saturday, October 10, starting at 11 a.m. on the front lawn of the Center Street School. The student volunteers are being coordinated by Linda Drake, Director of the SUNY Oneonta Center for Social Responsibility and Community. All residents and students are invited to participate.

Volunteers will gather at the school and move throughout the center city neighborhood picking up trash. Plastic gloves, trash bags, and soft drinks will be provided. Students will deliver information about the clean-up to center city residences before the event.

The volunteer event is designed to create an opportunity for students and year-round residents to work together and build meaningful relationships.

More information about the event is available from Michael Lynch at (607) 432-7260.
