PRESENTATION AT SUNY ONEONTA TO OFFER FINANCIAL ADVICE FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Kirk Allen, a 1995 graduate of the SUNY College at Oneonta who teaches business at a high school in Westchester County, will offer a presentation entitled "Save Your Financial Self: Practical Financial Advice for College Students" on Monday, October 12, at 8 p.m. in the Center for Multicultural Experiences in Lee Hall. Admission to the event is complimentary, and members of the community are invited to attend.

Allen, who received his degrees in business and education, is the author of the book "Save Your Financial Self." His presentation will address issues such as credit cards, debt, and purchasing power as they apply to college students and recent graduates. Though the program focuses on financial issues facing college students, it offers practical advice for all.

Allen’s appearance at his alma mater is sponsored by the College’s Africana and Latino Studies Department and the Educational Opportunity Program. More information is available from the Africana and Latino Studies Department at (607) 436-3449.
