ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY College at Oneonta is seeking proposals from artists to construct an outdoor piece of public art that symbolizes the College’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The artwork will serve as the focal point for the College’s annual Tapestry Award for Diversity and Inclusion, and it will be located in the main campus quadrangle between the Netzer Administration Building and Schumacher Hall or between Schumacher Hall and the Milne Library.
The artwork will incorporate the idea of weaving or a mosaic, as a symbol of the integration of diverse elements into an inclusive college community. The artwork will also have the capacity to grow or change over time to incorporate contributions from recipients of the Tapestry Award.
More details on the project, including requirements for artists
interested in submitting proposals, are available at the SUNY Oneonta web
site at www.oneonta.edu/navigation/diversity.asp through the link for
