Red Dragon Bookstore
How do I submit my textbook requisitions?
You have several options.
  • Pre-printed requistion forms are delivered to your department every semester. Edit and complete as appropriate, sign and process through your department secretary.
  • Complete the online requistion form found on the Red Dragon Bookstore website.
  • Use Faculty Center to research available textbooks, prepare and submit an electronic "notebook" with your choices. (Contact Tracy Dolan to receive a user log in and password.
  • What information do you need on my requistion form?

  • Your name, campus phone number, course number, course title, and semester
  • ISBN number- every edition of a book is assigned an unique ISBN number. The ISBN number is generally found on the copyright page or on the back cover. Check to make sure that you are not submitting the "instructor's copy" ISBN number as there will be a separate number for the student's edition.
  • Author's full name
  • Title
  • Edition
  • Publisher
  • Desired number of copies

  • If you have any questions regarding price, edition, availability or other testbook questions, please contact Linda Lutz at (607) 436-3329. Faculty Center may also be able to answer your questions.

How do I create and order a custom course pack?
If you have developed your course pack with a publisher's rep, they will furnish you with an ISBN number. Simply give us the ISBN number when requisitioning your books and the pack will be ordered. If your custom course pack requires copying materials, please contact our textbook coordinator, Linda Lutz at (607) 436-3329.

How are textbook order quantities determined?

  • Historical data for each textbook
  • The number of books you have requested
  • The number of available and taken seats in a class
  • What if there are course changes?
The Red Dragon Bookstore realizes that class and instructor circumstances change. Please let us know as soon as possible when course changes occur so that we can plan accordingly. Contact Linda Lutz via email or at (607) 436-3329.

What is the bookstore doing to control textbook costs?
Rising textbook prices are a concern for the Red Dragon Bookstore and we work diligently to try to contain textbook costs. This year for the first time ever, we are offering eBooks. We also pride ourselves in offering more used textbooks for sale than any other college in NYS. If you are interested in learning more about containing bookstore costs, please contact Leslie Craigmyle for a copy of our brochure. Leslie is also available to present to departmental meetings on containing textbook costs.

What is Faculty Center and how will it help me?
The Faculty Center Network is a one-stop resource on college textbooks. It is intended to serve faculty by providing robust information on textbooks to help faculty make informed adoption decisions. Over 300,000 textbooks and 5,000 publishers are catalogued with ratings, reviews, information on which schools are using the book and more. The site can assist you in making the best choice of textbook for your class. You may create a folder within Faculty Center which can be easily sent to the Red Dragon Bookstore with your textbook choices.

Does the Red Dragon Bookstore offer faculty and staff any discount?
Yes, all faculty and staff are entitled to a 15% discount off all non-textbook or non-electronic merchandise. Please let the cashier know that you are a faculty or staff member.
