CUAC TO PRESENT LESSONS LEARNED FROM MY GRANDFATHER - MARCH 5
The College Union Activities Council (CUAC) proudly presents Arun Gandhi’s Lessons Learned from My Grandfather in which he shares his riveting and unique reflections on the personal and historical legacy of his grandfather, and sets forth a message of integrity, social harmony, nonviolent struggle, and hope for a better world. The lecture is Wednesday, March 5 at 9 p.m. in the Hunt Union Ballroom. Arun Gandhi is the founder of the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence and grandson of the legendary peace fighter and spiritual leader, Mohandas Gandhi. Born and raised in apartheid-era South Africa, Gandhi was sent to India when he was 12 to live with his grandfather. He observed firsthand the profound national campaign for liberation through nonviolent means. Following his visit to India, Gandhi went on to lead successful economic and social reforms in India. He then came to the U.S., where he and his wife founded the M.K. Ghandi Institute for Nonviolence in Memphis. By continuing his grandfather's legacy, Gandhi has been able to provide insight into one of history's most influential leaders and has continued to stress the importance of nonviolence. If you wish to offer program credit, contact Bill Harcleroad at harclewg@oneonta.edu so we can anticipate attendance and assist you in knowing who was there.
ATTENTION: WORK STUDY-TEACHING ASSISTANT SUPERVISORS
Please do not send your work study/teaching assistants to the Instruction Support Center the first week of classes for training unless you can accompany them to do initial training and sign out processes. The ISC is so busy during the first week with no student staffing. It is impossible to find the time to train new students properly. It would also help if you would phone ahead for student training in the following weeks. Remember that those students assigned to your department that will be doing classroom work for you in Center this semester, must have their names put on file in the ISC, regardless if they worked for you last semester or not. Please send an email to Mona Hughes at hughesml@oneonta.edu listing your student’s names, department, and titles. Students not on file will not be allowed to do work in the center. Please remember that students are not allowed to handle any part of exams, quizzes, or test forms, and will not be allowed to violate copyright laws. If you have any questions, please phone x2490, or send a note to the above email address.
LIBRARY WEB SITE UPDATED
The Milne Library website, http://library.oneonta.edu/, has undergone a cosmetic change over the break. You can now search for books, articles, journals and reserves through the use of four tabs.
