Alan B. Donovan Scholarship
While there are many scholarship opportunities available at the SUNY College at Oneonta, the Alan B. Donovan Scholarship is one of unique character. As College President, Donovan has guided students, faculty, and staff for twenty years, with special zest for student achievement and involvement. The Office of College Advancement says, “Dr. Donovan’s leadership, expertise, and energy have helped our College grow into the institution of higher learning we are all proud to be part of today.”
This scholarship was established to not only honor him but to also create a valuable legacy for our current and future students. The scholarship will be awarded to an “average” student who may not qualify for other need-based or academic awards, but demonstrates college or community service and a strong work ethic. It will be awarded for the first time in the fall of 2009. It is with great pride that the World’s Largest Soccer Game will donate monies raised to this one-of-a-kind award.
